Why Moto-Newbie Exists?
It all started with a dream. In university, I was obsessed with The World’s Greatest Motorcycle documentary on Discovery Channel, which ranked the Honda Cub as #1. Watching Charlie Boorman try (and fail) to destroy one, I thought, If only he could give that bike to me!
I searched for a Cub in my home country, where they were nearly impossible to find. By sheer luck, I stumbled upon a brand-new, unsold Honda C90 at a Honda dealership—forgotten in storage for 10 years due to lost paperwork. After a back-and-forth process that felt like fate, I secured it for just $1,266—less than the price of a cheap Chinese scooter at the time. That day, April 19, 2008, changed everything.
Years later, in the UK, I took on my first major restoration project: a 2000 C90T. The bike was in rough shape, but my goal was to rebuild it entirely with new OEM parts—a challenge few had attempted. It took 3.5 years, and sourcing a new frame alone took six months.
I spent countless hours researching, troubleshooting, and making mistakes—time that you don’t have to waste, because I’ve already done it for you. Moto-Newbie was born from that experience: to help fellow Cub enthusiasts restore these bikes efficiently while preserving their history.
Honda Cubs are more than just motorcycles; they represent freedom, adventure, and the Power of Dreams. Let’s make yours roadworthy again.
