Moto Newbie Cub Restoration ServicesAt Moto Newbie, we are passionate about restoring Honda Super Cub C90s to their former glory. While we strive for the highest quality in our restorations, we want to ensure transparency regarding the process, timelines, and potential limitations.
1. Restoration Expectations
We leverage our extensive experience to achieve the best possible results, but outcomes are influenced by several factors, including the initial condition of the bike and availability of replacement parts. Every restoration is unique, and while we aim for perfection, no restoration can be guaranteed to meet factory-new standards.
2. Parts Availability & Lead Times
Sourcing OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts is a priority for us. If new parts are unavailable, we make every effort to procure OEM second-hand parts in the best possible condition. However, due to the classic nature of these bikes, parts may be scarce or subject to long wait times.
- Certain OEM parts may be on backorder, leading to delays beyond our control. In some cases, manufacturers may need to reproduce the part on demand, causing extended lead times of 3-6 months or longer.
- We will keep customers informed of any delays and provide realistic timeframes based on part availability and our current workload.
- If a customer has urgent needs, we can deliver the bike partially completed so they can source remaining parts independently.
3. Work Specialization & Outsourced Services
Our expertise lies in mechanical restoration, which includes disassembly, reassembly, repairs, and refurbishing components. However, certain specialized tasks require third-party services, such as:
- Engine rebuilding
- Frame modifications (welding, structural repairs, etc.)
- Sandblasting, powder coating, and painting
These external services may be subject to additional costs and extended lead times depending on our partners’ availability. While we stand by the work performed, we cannot assume liability for third-party craftsmanship beyond any warranties they may provide.
4. Quotes & Pricing Adjustments
Our initial quotes are estimates based on customer-provided images and descriptions. The final cost may change upon physical inspection due to unforeseen issues such as hidden rust, internal engine damage, or unavailable parts.
- Any price adjustments will be communicated before proceeding with additional work.
- No work will commence without customer approval and full payment in advance.
- External market factors (inflation, supply chain disruptions, or part scarcity) may impact pricing.
5. Documentation & Project Transparency
We maintain a detailed Excel spreadsheet tracking:
✔ All work performed
✔ Parts used (OEM, aftermarket, second-hand)
✔ Costs incurred
Customers may request a copy of this document at any time throughout the restoration process, and a final version will be provided upon project completion.
6. Final Adjustments & Liability
To ensure the best performance, we strongly recommend that customers allow us to test the restored bike on the road before final delivery. This helps us:
✔ Fine-tune the bike
✔ Identify potential issues
✔ Perform final quality checks
If a customer chooses to take delivery without final testing, we cannot be held responsible for any post-restoration issues that arise during regular use. Additionally, we are not liable for:
- Damage caused by improper maintenance or misuse
- Issues related to registration, paperwork, or legal road compliance
- Any modifications made after the restoration is completed
7. Our Commitment to Excellence
We are a small team of Honda Super Cub enthusiasts who take pride in our craft. We treat every restoration project as if it were our own, paying close attention to detail and striving to deliver quality work beyond expectations.
While we do our absolute best, every restoration carries inherent risks and limitations, and we appreciate our customers' understanding and patience throughout the process.
